Bobby Maguire

Music entered Bobby Maguire’s life at age fourteen when his father presented him with his first electric guitar while he healed from a chest operation at the Royal Children’s Hospital

Instantly Bobby was captivated by songwriting and, unable to play sports anymore, he promptly used his recovery time to form a rock band with his friends and brothers called Kan’d Peaches.
In a few short years, under Bobby’s leadership, the young group released two E.Ps produced by teacher and mentor Danny Ross. With catchy original songs and an energetic live show Kan’d Peaches earned a spot performing for thousands at various music festivals as well as first prize in multiple music competitions around FNQ and abroad.
As if this wasn’t already enough; Bobby then began hosting a weekly radio show and then produced a music video for the band’s single “Take the Bus Back” which went on to feature twice on Channel Ten.
In 2011, within weeks of graduating from High School, Bobby moved from his rural home in Julatten to Melbourne in order to study music at JMC Academy. Surrounded by the skyscrapers and buzz of the big city Bobby furthered his knowledge and skill while intensely studying and playing with many different artists.

Now, four years on, back in FNQ and with a Bachelor Degree in Music under his belt, Bobby Maguire has become the ultimate one-man-band by adding live-looping and song-building to his performances as he showcases his uniquely catchy brand of indie rock
