Shirl is a North Queensland songwriter, female vocalist and guitarist.

This wordsmith delivers meaning, dangles hooks and lures listeners into catchy refrains. Well equipped with a strong vocal, acoustic guitar, occasional harmonica hues and ukulele expect an original vibe that is “Shirl”.

 

'My Kind of Paradise”

written by Shirl is a multi award winning song, recently awarded the Max T Barnes - Cairns to Nashville - Best Song 2015. It was also awarded the 2013 Song of Carnivale. In addition to this, it was awarded RADF funding for the creation of a music video. Shirl released her debut CD – “It’s About Time” at the end of 2012. Shirl is a regular performer at Songwriters on the Waterfront at the Hilton in Cairns.

Not only is Shirl recognised as a singer songwriter from North Queensland she also performs original and cover songs in the duo – “Silktones” and in the band – “Blue Tonic”.
